Kamehameha Day honors the life and memory of Kamehameha the Great

This year on June 11, the Hawaii community celebrated Kamehameha Day in honor of the great King Kamehameha, the monarch of Hawaii who established the Kingdom of Hawaii in 1810 and brought order and peace to the islands. Kamehameha Day is a state holiday, and one of the first state holidays passed by the Hawaii State Legislature.

Here in Hawaii, we celebrate Kamehameha Day with a series of fairs, carnivals and parades throughout Hawaii. On Kamehameha Day, the regal statue of Kamehameha the Great can be found draped in gorgeous, floral lei. Celebrate Kamehameha Day all month long with our Deluxe Pearl Harbor Tours, all of which feature a tour through historic Downtown Honolulu and past the King Kamehameha statue
